77% of travelers plan to travel next year and Europe is their top destination, survey finds

Amadeus, a travel technology company, has revealed that travelers around the world are ready to take new trips and that Europe is their top destination.

According to Amadeus’ survey of nine markets, of 9,074 respondents, 77 percent said they were ready to travel again and hope to do so next year, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com .

While half of them say they will be traveling for business later this year, respondents from France, Germany, India, Spain, Russia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, UK United and United States also reveal that Europe is a prime destination for both types of travel; business and leisure.

Additionally, those interviewed said they intended to travel on business and their first destinations were:

  • Europe (37%)
  • Asia (28%)
  • North America (26%)

While 24% said they plan to travel to the Middle East, 19% of travelers said they will be going to Latin America and 19% to Australasia.

On the other hand, non-essential or leisure travel was predominant in the survey, with the majority of respondents confirming that they intended to do so in the next few months. Respondents said Europe remains a top destination for leisure as well, with 51% confirming that the continent is at the top of their travel list. Asia followed with 34 percent, North America (29 percent) and the Middle East (26 percent).

As the data shows, Australasia appears to be a more attractive destination for recreation as it was a top destination for 23 percent of respondents, while 22 percent said they were planning to visit Latin America. .

In addition, Russian nationals were the most willing to travel again (87%), as were the British, who were no less eager to travel in the coming months (69%).

The survey results further indicate that people were inclined to travel close to their country of origin.

Again, following the same trend, UAE travelers revealed that they intended to travel to the Middle East for business (51%) or leisure (47%).
