Darcy Gray has caught the eye of many Emmerdale fans as he prepares to make his first appearance on the popular soap opera.
The actor will debut with viewers thinking he’s going to stir up trouble at the village vet.
It is revealed that he is not just any newcomer to the Dales, but is actually the son of Pierce Harris, Rhona’s ex-husband.
Away from the soap opera, Darcy had a very interesting childhood after spending the first 13 years of her life outside the UK.
How old is Darcy and where is he from?
Darcey is 30 and originally from England but spent the first 13 years of her childhood growing up in Spain.
He explained that his mother was very fond of traveling, which is why he lived abroad for so long.
The Emmerdale star shared that he was lucky to have the opportunity but was an “outcast” as a child.
Darcy says he stood out because he was the only blue-eyed kid out of all the Spanish kids.
However, his family moved back to England when he hit his teens where he studied for his A-levels and got his toe stuck in the acting pond.
Who plays Darcy in Emmerdale?
Darcy took on the role of Marcus Dean, a newcomer with a significant past for a character.
Her father is Pierce Harris, a former villager who was the widower of Tess Merton, the woman with whom Paddy Kirk had an affair.
He ended up in a relationship with Rhona and the two got married in April 2017.
However, on their wedding night, Pierce raped Rhona and after a trial was sentenced to five years in prison.
Is this Darcy’s first job?
Emmerdale is Darcy’s first major television role with him sharing that his previous job was selling fancy dog food.
He explained that he was initially shy about the job, but now enjoys it because it helped him after drama school.
It also allowed her to work weekends so she could audition during the week.
Darcy had moved to Los Angeles but decided to return to the UK aged 26 to train for drama school.
He eventually returned to the United States but later settled in England.
